About Julia Matejcek
Dog behavior has been a life-long passion of mine. I have studied and practiced through pursuing biology and animal behavior in college, and taking internships in the dog training world.
Then, my dog Vaclav came into my life in 2019. He was a five-month old rescue with a host of serious behavioral issues and no prior training. We set to work together, and I learned so much from him and from other trainers. He thrived in our training process and surprised us by developing into a confident and reliable dog. Once I had built solid communication with him, he could learn anything. We have gone on to earn titles together and to train in agility. My experience working with him opened my eyes to the possibilities that we can unleash in our dog’s development with clear communication and modern training techniques.
In June 2023, I attended dog training school with experts Michael and Bart Bellon. My areas of interest and research include obedience training, socialization, behavior modification, and dog sports (mainly agility!). When I’m not training, I’m probably working on an art project! I am also a trained photographer, and several of my programs include a portrait session for you and your dog!
PS. A big thank-you to Amber Hall for taking the photos of Vaclav and I that appear on this site.
